dear reader,

here is the 5th track off of my EP, “curls of smoke”—it’s entitled Lander’s Blues.

new orleans, louisiana is a town that has both sucked me into her orbit and also spat me out. like all places it holds a special energy—the duality of pain and joy that the city holds creates a palpable feeling of magic. i’ve channeled songs from the heavens and made deals with the devil. watched friends kill themselves slowly and create prolific beauty through art. i’ve seen the most beautiful celebrations of death and life, while wondering how much longer i’d get to walk on earth.

new orleans is a city comprised of the most resilient humans i’ve ever met. this song is a snapshot of the allure and discomfort, the magnificence and sorrow, and the generosity of deep feeling that this city has shown me.
